THE WORLD OF KAWAKB

Hailing from planet earth, Kawakb embodies the literal meaning “planets” of the Arabic word [ ka-wa-keb – كواكب  ] to invite you to visit different kinds of spheres through his music. Kawakb explores various styles of music that is not bound only to one genre, but more to that, Kawakb has this particular ability to take everything within and surrounding him—be it sorrow and hope—and turns them into a cinematic sound scapes that evokes diverse moods, feelings and strong images in your head as you listen to it.

Starting with lo-fi/chill arrangement, the first piece entitled “instant Knafeh” was introduced with its layered sounds of astral melodic arrangement built around jazztronic-infused chill beats and instrumentations, accompanied by a collision of humming and murmured vocals that slowly, hauntingly seeps through each of your senses. While the second release, “Ishtar 4 a.m.” is a more intense mixture of lo-fi beats that are buttressed by detailed elements such as taken-down drum machines and delicate woodwind instruments, enhanced in a seamless manner by a saxophone that plays around beautifully-crafted traditional Arabic melodies. Both musical pieces have such disparate atmospheres of its own that go beyond a mere loop of cuts and samples, yet it brings you the same objective to walk you on an ephemeral sonic trip—giving a space to recall every memory or to find a new place within yourself throughout the journey.
